How to Make a TWELVE LAYER Rainbow Cake!

Twelve Layer Rainbow Cake Recipe

INGREDIENTS
2 boxes yellow or white cake mix (I used Betty Crocker)
Eggs as directed on package + one extra egg
Water as directed on package
Canola oil as directed on package
2 boxes vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz each)
Lots of buttercream (recipe below)
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and pink food coloring
Rainbow sprinkles

DIRECTIONS
1. Mix together one box of cake mix according to package directions, adding in extra egg and one box of pudding mix per box of cake mix. I mixed the two batches of cake mix separately.
2. Scoop ยฝ cup + 2 T batter into separate bowls. One box of cake mix will make 6 layers of cake. Color each bowl as follows:
Bright red
Light red
Light orange
Bright orange
Bright yellow
Light green
Bright green
Bright blue
Light blue
Violet
Bright purple
Bright pink
3. Bake each layer in an 8โ€ cake pan sprayed with cooking spray, lined with parchment paper, and then lightly sprayed again. Bake for 12-13 minutes.
4. Let each layer cool completely, then stack and frost layers.

Buttercream Frosting Recipe
For the video, I used 2 ยฝ cans store-bought frosting and one batch of this buttercream frosting for the outside of the cake.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup (2 sticks) softened butter
3 cups powdered sugar
2-3 T milk
1 tsp vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS
1. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add milk to reach desired consistency, then mix in vanilla.
