Instructions
Pinata Cake
  1. Cut poundcake into a 6" piece and a 3" piece that includes the end of the poundcake for a rounded look. If using homemade poundcake, bake it in a 9" x 5" loaf pan and cut accordingly. Stand 6" piece on its long end and cut into thirds. Cut out the center of the middle section, and glue bottom layer and middle section together with frosting.
  2. Stack 3 Oreos and glue together with frosting. Repeat for 4 legs. Frost Oreo stacks with star pattern - see photos above.
  3. Arrange frosted Oreo stacks on a serving platter and attach them to the platter with frosting. Make sure Oreo stacks line up with the size of the poundcake. Glue the stack of poundcake from Step 1 to the Oreo stacks with frosting. Fill poundcake cavity with mini M&Ms, then glue top layer of poundcake on top with frosting. Glue head (3" piece from Step 1) on with more frosting.
  4. Cut off top of ice cream cone. Poke a toothpick through the bottom section, and insert a lollipop stick. Insert the ice cream cone on the front of the head using the lollipop stick as a support.
  5. Cut the marshmallow on a diagonal, then glue to head of pinata with frosting.
  6. Frost entire cake with star pattern. Make eyes by applying chocolate to center of white candy wafer. Let set, and apply more white chocolate to eye for the pupil. Let set, then press onto cake
Buttercream Frosting
  1. Cream together butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy - about 5 minutes. Mix in vanilla extract, then add enough milk to reach desired consistency. Divide between 5 bowls and color yellow, purple, pink, blue, and orange. Place into piping bags fitted with star tips and use.
