Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 room temperature eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk

- in Fondant in white, black, pink, and green
- Gold paper for antlers + skewers

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F. Grease two 6" baking pans w/ cooking spray, line with parchment, and grease again. For remaining batter, you can either bake another 6" cake or bake about 12 cupcakes.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder. Set aside.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix only until mixture just comes together. Divide between pans (fill pans 7/8 full), then bake for 1 hour. Bake cupcakes for about 20-25 minutes.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pans.
